Leaf with Care

September 26, 2019

September 28th- October 5th is Macaroni Kid's Week of Acts of Kindness. In the spirit of both Fall and Kindness I have been thinking about how to be more kind through this busy and fun season.

Our area is flooded with visitors during the beautiful fall foliage weekends. People are passing through our town to go apple picking, attend street fairs and wineries and are simply out to enjoy the spectacular color show the trees are performing. This also brings some unpleasant affects. We will have heavier local traffic on the weekends, our local coffee shops and bagel stops will have longer lines, and our local farms and orchards will be more crowded.

Let's be kind, and patient. Let's welcome these visitors and feel happy for the local shop owners who will see an rise in sales over the next few weeks. Let's be kind to the workers at the restaurants and stores who might be taking a little longer, they likely are having a busy day! And while visiting orchards and farms, please care for their property, neighbors, food and goods as you would your own.

Happy Leaf Season! Enjoy the Beauty in it all!
